ChatGPT Meets Mixology: Raven Bar’s Innovative New AI-Created Cocktail
San Francisco, CA – Raven Bar, one of The City’s best dance clubs, is pleased to announce a first of its kind collaboration with ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model.
This exciting collaboration brings together Raven’s in-house mixologists and ChatGPT’s innovative technology to craft the first cocktail created by Artificial Intelligence on a bar menu in San Francisco.
Raven’s Lead Mixologist, Wes Reynolds, along with General Manager, David Luu, and Marketing Director, Sean Colin, worked with the bar’s owners to prompt ChatGPT to produce a recipe for a uniquely original Mezcal Cocktail, which they dubbed the “CraftGPT”. The Raven Team specified a distinct flavor profile, and provided certain ingredients to use, along with what not to use, and let AI take it from there.
ChatGPT analyzed the flavor profiles of dozens of mezcal cocktails and used that data to create a recipe that incorporates the unique flavors of Guajillo Chile Pepper Infused Mezcal, Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice, Blood Orange, and Firewater Bitters. Raven’s GM then tested and refined the recipe to ensure it was the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and smoky.

We are thrilled to be the first bar in San Francisco to collaborate with ChatGPT in this innovative way,” said Luu. “We wanted to see how the capabilities of this new AI Technology would compare to the skills of our talented in-house mixologists, and we must say, we are highly impressed by what both our team, and ChatGPT created.”
The “CraftGPT”, a Guajillo Infused Mezcal Cocktail, will be featured on Raven’s Spring Menu, releasing on April 6th, 2023.
Luu finalized by saying, “this innovative pairing of Raven Bar’s Throwback Theme, and ChatGPT’s forward-thinking technology, represents a blending of ‘old-school and new-school’ which mix together to create a fresh experience. And it’s a new frontier in cocktail making, where the combined powers of human creativity and AI technology lead to exciting new taste profiles in our drinks.”
